About the Position
An exciting opportunity to gain experience and contribute to a high-performing Sustainability Team. This role supports the delivery of high-quality sustainability programs, projects, and services which address the seven key priorities of Monash’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2026-2026.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, sustainability, or related field.
- Good understanding of the complex environmental sustainability issues within a Local Government context and proven ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Well-developed written communication skills in order to produce material designed to meet the needs of diverse audiences, including preparation of newsletters.
- Well-developed verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to liaise and negotiate at all levels within the organisation and externally with a diverse range of stakeholders; including the ability to make public presentations.
- Ability to gain cooperation and/or assistance from, consult, liaise, negotiate effectively, impartially and successfully with peers, contractors, consultants, customers and other professionals internal or external for the development or review of environmental issues.
- A high level of self-motivation, setting priorities, achieving goals, managing time across numerous projects and meeting deadlines
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, sustainability, or related field.
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Satisfactory National Police Check; and
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
