The Strategy, Planning and Partnerships team within Children, Youth and Family Services leads strategic planning, infrastructure planning and partnership development to support high-quality, accessible services for the Monash community. The team works across Council and with key external partners to deliver evidence-based planning that drives better outcomes for children, young people and families.
About the Position
This is a rare opportunity to lead the development of Council’s Children, Youth and Family Services Infrastructure Plan – a major strategic piece of work that will shape how services are planned, delivered and supported across the municipality.
You will bring together data, policy, service planning and stakeholder insights to develop a long-term, evidence-based infrastructure strategy and translate it into proposed outcomes, investment priorities and funding opportunities.
Skills and Experience
We are looking for a strategic thinker who can connect data, people and place to deliver meaningful outcomes. You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure planning, service planning or strategic planning within a community or local government context
- Strong analytical capability, including experience in demographic analysis, demand mapping and translating evidence into clear recommendations
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from concept to delivery, including developing strategies, frameworks and implementation plans
- Experience preparing business cases, feasibility studies or grant submissions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including working across multidisciplinary teams and with external partners
- Highly developed written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise and influential reports for executive audiences
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in planning, social policy, early childhood, community development or a related field
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Other pre-employment checks may be required
