About the role

You will deliver a centralised Business Concierge service that supports businesses to establish, grow and invest in Monash. Acting as a key liaison between business and Council, you will navigate regulatory complexity, coordinate internal expertise and deliver a seamless, customer-focused experience.

  • Provide clear, timely advice on permit pathways and regulatory requirements
  • Triage and track enquiries and coordinate responses across key regulatory teams
  • Translate complex requirements into practical, business-friendly guidance
  • Support smooth, high-quality permit application processes
  • Report on outcomes and performance, and drive improvements to systems, processes and digital tools
  • Support investment attraction and respond to business and investor enquiries
  • Develop accessible resources, insights and tools for business decision-making
  • Deliver early-stage business support programs
  • Foster a collaborative, business-friendly culture across Council

About you

You are a proactive and customer-focused professional who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about supporting business and delivering positive local economic outcomes.

Experience in economic development or business-facing regulatory environments, ideally within local government. This role is suited to both economic development professionals or candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas - Planning, Building, Environmental Health or Community Laws.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and how they apply to business establishment and growth
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, practical and accessible advice
    Proven project management, analytical and reporting skills
  • Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and coordinating stakeholders to deliver outcomes
  • A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trust and strong relationships
  • Experience identifying and implementing process or system improvements
  • Highly developed communication and facilitation skills, including workshops and business engagement
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
