The library service sits within the Arts & Libraries department of the Community Services division. There are 5 main branches based in Clayton, Glen Waverley, Mount Waverley, Oakleigh and Wheelers Hill and Mulgrave Neighbourhood Library is situated within Wellington Reserve Community Centre.
About the Position
The Team Leader Children & Youth is responsible for the development and delivery of programs and services focused on meeting the literacy, learning, social and recreational needs of children and young people (including their families and carers).
This role is also responsible for building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration and innovative community outcomes. It will proactively contribute knowledge, expertise and support for the development, management and promotion of children's and youth collections.
In addition to specialising in children's and youth the Team Leader Children & Youth will lead and motivate their teams (youth team and branch team) to deliver exceptional customer experiences that meet the diverse needs of the Monash community.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in the design and delivery of strategic and innovative services to children, youth, their families and carers
- Demonstrated ability to contribute knowledge and expertise to the development, management and promotion of children's and youth library collections
- Proven ability to work autonomously, as part of a team and with a broad range of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and complete work to a high standard, within set timelines and with competing priorities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in reporting and program planning, reporting and presentation skills
Requirements
A tertiary degree qualification in Information Management or related discipline, or management qualification is desirable with several years’ relevant experience.

- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
