Active Monash is seeking an Aquatic Programs Coordinator to lead the marketing, promotion and delivery of our aquatic programs across our three facilities - Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC), Clayton Aquatics and Health Club (CAHC) and Oakleigh Recreation Centre (ORC).
About the Position
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine sales, community engagement and people leadership to grow participation and deliver high-quality aquatic experiences for our community.
Reporting to the Area Manager Aquatics, you’ll be responsible for the success of a diverse range of aquatic programs, including:
- Enrolments and account management for our Learn to Swim Program
- Attendant Support Initiative
- Holiday programs and activities
- Birthday parties, facility hire and special events
- Community engagement initiatives and promotions
You’ll lead and support Aquatic Membership Consultants, Recreation Leaders, Attendant Support Workers and support staff, while also being actively involved in sales, reporting and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the marketing, promotion and sales of aquatic programs across three sites
- Actively drive membership growth and sales conversion
- Coordinate facility bookings, invoicing and program administration
- Analyse and report on sales performance, participation and trends
- Recruit, train, supervise and roster Aquatic Programs staff
- Maintain high standards of customer service and safety
- Build strong relationships with schools, community groups and community stakeholders
- Contribute to budgets, reports and business planning for the Aquatic Programs unit
About you
You’re an organised, people-focused leader who is comfortable balancing strategy with day-to-day operations. You bring:
- Proven experience in sales, marketing and/or aquatic or leisure environments
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate teams
- Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working towards targets in a competitive environment
- Sound administrative, reporting and data management skills
- Confidence handling issues, complaints and operational challenges
Requirements
Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in sales, marketing or the leisure industry
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Level 2 First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain)
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
Desirable
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Water Safety
- Current Lifeguard Certificate
- Victorian Driver’s Licence
