City of Monash is a dynamic organisation committed to providing excellence in service delivery. Located in the eastern region, Monash is a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse city, close to the demographic centre of Melbourne.

Our Social Inclusion Team works directly with older adults, community organisations, and internal stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that support people to remain connected, engaged, and age well in their community

About the Position

This is a hands-on project coordination and delivery role. The Age Well Officer is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating Age-Friendly and dementia-friendly initiatives aligned with Council’s Health and Wellbeing Plan.

You will work closely with community groups, service providers, and internal Council teams to coordinate activities, manage timelines, support events and engagement activities, and ensure projects are delivered effectively from concept through to completion.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, managing multiple projects at once, and seeing ideas turned into tangible outcomes in the community.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong project coordination skills, including organising activities, managing timelines, and balancing competing priorities
  • Experience working directly with people and stakeholders, not solely in a strategic or policy role
  • Well-developed organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Understanding of issues impacting older people, ageing and age friendly cities

Requirements

  • Qualifications in health promotion, community development, social science, with relevant experience in community services
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.

As a City of Monash employee, your personal and professional development is a key focus for us. You will have access to:

  • Supportive and experienced leaders that care for your development and wellbeing
  • Vibrant health and well-being programs
  • Employee Assistance Program for you and your family
  • Flexible working arrangements
