Transport Engineering assists in the management, planning and general control of traffic and transport systems for the community. Our team works collaboratively to achieve high-quality outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
About the Position
This role offers the opportunity to undertake and manage a portfolio of transport tasks that make a real difference in the community, while engaging with a supportive, collaborative team
The Transport Engineer will support the planning, investigation and implementation of traffic and transport solutions, with a focus on transport infrastructure projects, ensuring best practice and compliance with Council standards. The role works closely with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve effective, timely solutions for the community.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, working towards Professional Registration
- Minimum 5 years' experience in traffic and transport engineering
- Proficient in planning and monitoring of traffic-related Capital Works projects
- Proficient in traffic and transport-related investigations, reports and solution development
- Proficient in review of private development engineering plans
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- Proven problem-solving skills and commitment to high-quality customer service
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
- Current Victorian Driver License (mandatory)
- Working towards Professional Engineering registration (desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and Council policies (desirable)
