About the Position

As the Recycling Educator, you will deliver engaging and impactful waste education programs to schools, early learning centres, and community groups. Your work will support Monash’s waste reduction and recycling goals by promoting correct bin use, reducing contamination, and fostering long-term behaviour change. You’ll collaborate with the Zero Waste Team Leader and partners to ensure education programs align with Council strategies and community needs.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of recycling, waste avoidance, and sustainability principles
  • Experience in community engagement and delivering education programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences, including children and CALD communities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online presentation platforms

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Education, Community Development or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Current Victorian Driver Licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle
  • Employee Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Check
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or after-hours events
