About the Position

The Resource Recovery Transition Officer – MUDs will lead the transition of multi-unit developments to private waste services and updated kerbside offerings, ensuring alignment with Council policies, planning permits, and Waste Management Plans. They will engage with stakeholders to promote sustainable waste practices, support education initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with residents, property managers, and internal teams
  • Ability to interpret Waste Management Plans, technical drawings, and service infrastructure requirements
  • Proficiency in data tracking, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent time management and coordination skills to manage multiple service transitions and stakeholder engagements
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking to address site-specific waste challenges
  • Experience in delivering community education and promoting sustainable waste practices

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Management, Sustainability, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Demonstrated experience in waste management, stakeholder engagement, and service coordination, preferably within a local government or multi-unit dwelling context 
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check 
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Current Victorian Driver’s Licence required 
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
