A vacancy exists for a motivated person to work within the Fleet Services Unit as part of the team responsible for the maintenance of Council’s large and varied fleet.
About the Position
As a motor mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. You will work closely with a team to meet service targets and deliver high-quality customer satisfaction
Skills and Experience
- Formal Trade Automotive (Mechanic) qualifications which meet or exceed the Australian Standard.
- The ability to repair and maintain a diverse range of cars, diesel trucks, tractors and specialist turf equipment.
- High-level interpersonal skills and communication skills in customer service environment;
- Sound organisational and time management skills;
- Computer skills and ability to use current business software applications.
- Problem solving
Requirements
- Formal Trade Automotive (Mechanic) qualifications which meet or exceed the Australian Standard
- Current car drivers’ licence
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
