About the position

Using an evidence based and best practice approach the part time position is responsible for delivering a range of projects and personal development programs supporting children and young people. This will incorporate a focus on children and young people who fit within middle years (aged 8yrs - 14rs).

Using a strength based and client centred approach the position will also be responsible for individual support of children, young people and when appropriate their families, in the form of assessment, information provision, support, casework and referral. 

Skills and experience

  • Experience and knowledge of supporting children, young people and their families, in particular children and young people who fall within the middle years cohort (8 - 14years)
  • Experience in approaches to supporting children and young people with diverse needs
  • Experience in planning, developing, implementing and evaluating group programs and projects for children and young people
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a range of mental health, community and education professionals.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology or a related field
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
