The Bushland & Wetlands Team manage a broad range of significant bushland, wetlands and waterways of high biodiversity value which provide important natural places for our community to connect to nature, explore and enjoy.
About the Position
You will play a key part in the protection and enhancement of the City of Monash's significant natural reserve areas by providing on ground leadership ensuring the delivery of high standard environmental maintenance.
Focusing strongly on leadership within teams through demonstrating high work standards, team collaboration, and a passion for fostering beneficial biodiversity outcomes, the Crew Leader will support department people leaders to achieve both Bushland, Horticultural & wider City Services objectives.
This position provides timely, excellent customer service to internal and external customers, stakeholders, and agencies.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in the use of best practice bushland maintenance techniques & equipment.
- Ability to lead and work within teams with strong emphasis on fostering collaboration and a positive team culture.
- Experience in managing time, setting priorities, collaborative planning, and organising work in an innovative and progressive manner.
- Excellent communication skills to successfully foster relationships with colleagues, contractors, external authorities, stakeholders, and the community.
Requirements
- Diploma in Natural Resource Management or equivalent with demonstrated field experience, or extensive experience equivalent to Diploma level.
- Current Victorian drivers license.
- ACUP (Agricultural Chemical Users permit).
- First Aid Level 1.
- Level 1 Chainsaw certificate (desirable).
- Experience in leading small teams.
