Our Social Inclusion Team works directly with older adults, volunteers, community organisations, and internal stakeholders to deliver Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) -funded social support programs that help people stay connected, engaged, and supported to age well in their community.
About the Position
The Social Inclusion Program Assistant is a hands-on role focused on the delivery and coordination of group-based social support programs. This includes supporting the planning and running of activities, assisting with logistics and administration, liaising with clients, volunteers and staff, and helping ensure programs are delivered safely, smoothly, and in line with CHSP requirements.
You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of programs—supporting participants and volunteers, coordinating resources, and contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment for older people.
This role suits someone who enjoys working directly with people, juggling practical tasks, and being part of a team that delivers meaningful outcomes in the community.
Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting or delivering group activities, programs or services, ideally in community services, aged care or a similar setting
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage schedules, and support multiple programs
- Experience working directly with clients and volunteers
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
- Ability to drive a 10 seater bus
- Understanding of issues impacting older people, social connection, and ageing well
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Leisure and Health (or similar), or demonstrated experience in a social support or community services role
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Satisfactory National Police Check
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
