About the Position:
You will work as part of a dedicated Asset Protection team, undertaking inspections of Council assets and private development works to ensure compliance with approved construction plans, permit conditions, and relevant standards. The role involves monitoring construction activities across the municipality to protect Council assets and ensure works are carried out in accordance with approvals.
- Providing community advice, assistance and education regarding asset protection policy and associated local laws
- Inspecting and monitor construction sites to prevent or resolve damage or environmental hazards to Council assets
- Undertake inspections for compliance with legal point of discharge permits for stormwater management
- Investigating and respond to complaints, effectively communicating with the community in resolving issues
- Undertake after-hours building noise inspections as required
About you:
- Experience in civic compliance or law enforcement areas
- Skills in investigation and problem solving
- Knowledge of, and experience in the practical application of relevant legislation relating to compliance, local laws, OH&S and traffic safety
- Ability to communicate complex information to a range of stakeholders
- Understanding of reinstatement standards for Council assets, or ability to learn
- An ability to deliver compliance monitoring services in a courteous and professional manner
- Pride in building effective relationships the community
Requirement of the position:
- Satisfactory National Police Check; and
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
