About the Position
The Area Manager, Aquatics is responsible for setting and delivering a bold strategic direction that aligns with Active Monash’s vision of ‘Participate Your Way’, a commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and customer-led aquatic experiences that increase participation across the aquatics community.
This role leads the development and implementation of a dynamic marketing and engagement strategy to grow participation in aquatic services and programs, strengthen brand identity, and deepen community connection.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in leading a high-performing aquatic or recreation facility with strong commercial and community outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a strategic marketing plan that drives participation, brand engagement, and customer growth
- Strong leadership capability, with experience managing large teams, cultivating a positive culture, and supporting performance and development
- Deep understanding of contemporary aquatic programming, inclusion principles, and public health promotion through physical activity
- Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal, with the ability to influence, advocate and collaborate across stakeholders
- Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, innovation, and solution-focused planning in a dynamic, multi-site environment
