About the Position

An exciting senior leadership position in early years and family services. We are seeking a highly experienced, innovative and effective leader, with substantial operational and management experience in early years, family services or community services provision.

Monash delivers a range of community development and support activities as well as directly delivering numerous early years and family services. Services delivered by Council include:

  • Funded Family Services
  • Playgroup services and support for community delivered playgroups
  • Kindergarten support programs (e.g., PSFO and support for CALD families to access kindergarten)
  • Facilitation of the Kindergarten Central Registration and Enrolment Scheme
  • Community development and capacity building support to early years and family services that operate from Council owned buildings

As part of the Children Youth and Family Services Leadership Team you will participate with other senior leaders to shape the services and support Monash provides to children, young people and families, now and in the future.

 Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will

  • Be a highly experienced early childhood professional, with extensive leadership and strategic service planning experience
  • Demonstrate high level conceptual and analytical skills
  • Have highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership and management of staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage, liaise and negotiate at all levels and with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Have exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Have a passion to work across the department, the organisation, and the community to deliver exceptional services and outcomes for children and families.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in an area related to early childhood education and care, family support or in social science
  • Employee Working with Children’s Check
  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
  • Candidates must address the Key Selection Criteria in their application, to be eligible for consideration.
