The Bushland & Wetlands Team manage a broad range of significant bushland, wetlands and waterways of high biodiversity value which provide important natural places for our community to connect to nature, explore and enjoy.
About the Position:
You will play a key part in the protection and enhancement of the City of Monash's significant natural reserve areas. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of bushland maintenance in both remnant and revegetation sites, implementing well developed natural resource management techniques.
The role also provides an exciting opportunity to assist in community engagement and education through events and activities.
About you:
- Experienced in the use of bushland maintenance techniques & equipment.
- Enjoy being empowered to contribute to, co-develop and implement reserve management and works programs.
- A motivated, team player who is responsible for achieving high quality outcomes, through self-management and working as part of a large team.
- Willingly engage in community events and education such as the supervising "Friends of " groups activities and community plantings on some weekends.
Requirements of the position:
- Relevant industry qualification such as Diploma in Natural Resource Management or equivalent demonstrated experience;
- Current Victorian Drivers License;
- ACUP or Farm Chemicals Users Certificate;
- Pre-employment Medical Assessment;
- Employee Working with Children’s Check;
- Satisfactory National Police Check;
- Valid Right to Work in Australia; and
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
