The Brine Street Child Care Centre is a 67 place long day care centre in Hughesdale. We provide education and care for children aged between eight weeks to six years from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, for 50 weeks of the year.

About the Position:
As one of the service’s Cooks you are expected to be an active member of the team which provides high-quality early childhood education and care to children. This will be achieved through the effective management and upkeep of the service’s kitchen facilities.
In addition to cooking meals for the children attending the centre you will be required to have a sound knowledge of nutritional requirements within a childcare setting.
You will ensure compliance with all aspects of the Food Safety Plan - development of Allergen Matrix, implementation of Hazard Analysis & Control, stock rotation, safe food handling, temperature control checks and keeping of appropriate records. The role also requires participation in kitchen audits, ordering online and following up food orders.
About You:
- Previous experience as a cook in a childcare centre is desirable
- Previous experience in planning and preparing food for large groups
- Clear understanding of the Food Safety Program
Requirement of the position:
- Availability to work Monday & Tuesday (8.30 am to 2.30 pm)
- An approved Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- An approved Food Handler’s Certificate
- Current First Aid training
- Right to work in Australia
- A current Working with Children Check; and
- Satisfactory National Police Check (less than six months old) are required
