We have a vacancy (parental leave cover) within our dedicated and supportive Workplace Relations Team. This is a unique role that will suit a candidate looking to further their Workplace Relations career in an exceptionally diverse workforce.  No two days are ever the same when providing specialist advice and support to a workforce that includes nurses, engineers, gardeners, accountants and fitness instructors.

The Workplace Relations portfolio is an integral function that is part of the People & Safety Team and responsible for strategic and operational workplace relations across the organisation.  

About the Position

The Workplace Relations Business Partner is an integral position within the Workplace Relations Team.  This position will directly support the effectiveness of a complex and busy portfolio, including case managing employee relations matters and supporting strategic projects.

The role will also provide assistance and advice to key management positions within the People and Safety team and participate in highly sensitive and complex industrial cases. In addition, the role will be responsible for contributing to key workplace relations projects, for example, supporting the Workplace Relations Lead in the negotiation and management of the Enterprise Agreement and ongoing management of the People and Safety policy framework.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to interpret relevant legislation, Enterprise Agreements, employment contracts, IR and legal documentation  
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Proven project management skills and the ability to set key priorities and confidently manage competing deadlines within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and apply different thinking
  • Relevant experience and qualifications 

Requirements

  • Satisfactory National Police Check
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related 
  • Experience in ER/WR/IR 
  • Policy and procedure framework management including policy writing
  • Enterprise Bargaining Agreement experience highly advantageous
