The Communications and Engagement department provides support to all departments across Council to ensure our customers can access and understand the information they need to access services, take advantage of council initiatives and provide input to council decisions.

About the Position

This is a leadership role in the Communications and Engagement Department. You will be responsible for providing direction and oversight to proactively manage and evolve Council’s brand and ensure consistent, high quality and effective professional communication with council audiences. You will reinforce trust in Council by setting and upholding professional standards of communication and identifying visual solutions that help the community recognise the everyday value that Council provides.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in fine art, design or multi-media and significant experience designing and managing production of collateral to support communication objectives
  • Proven ability to identify design solutions within a brand framework that reinforce the brand and evolve it to meet the needs of Council and the community
  • A high level of creativity, innovation, and technical judgement to develop and deliver visual solutions that ensure effective, appropriate and consistent communication with target audiences
  • Strategic ability to assess desired outcomes and develop a brand framework to achieve communication objectives and support organisational requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to influence design and presentation outcomes that are effective for customers
  • Highly organised and ability to self manage competing demands to deadlines

  • Satisfactory National Police Check
