About the Position

As a Data Governance Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in uplifting Monash Council’s data culture by embedding robust governance practices and driving improvements in data quality and accessibility. You’ll collaborate with business and technical teams to implement the Data Governance Framework, promote data ownership and stewardship, and ensure alignment with compliance standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and quality standards
  • Strong understanding of MDM, metadata, data lineage, and business glossary
  • Proficiency in data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Collibra, ERWIN)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to engage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of data-related compliance and privacy requirements (e.g., Privacy Act, GDPR)
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks to deadlines with a proactive mindset

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a data governance with data analysis, profiling, classification, lineage mapping or in a data quality management role, implementing data governance framework across the organisation
  • Exposure to enterprise data environments and data governance initiatives and relevant experience in implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and quality standards
  • Strong understanding of master data management (MDM), data quality, metadata, data lineage, and business glossary tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to drive the adoption Satisfactory National Police Check; and
  • Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
