About the Position
The Team Leader Wellbeing & Advocacy plays a key leadership role amongst the Wellbeing & Equity team and wider Community Strengthening team.
The position will be responsible for:
- Leading a high performing team of the health and wellbeing, social policy and primary prevention portfolios
- Leading the development and delivery of policies, frameworks and programs for the Wellbeing & Advocacy team including but not limited to the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, Monash Social Housing Framework, Gambling Policy and Community Safety Framework
- Developing and fostering internal and community partnerships to deliver innovative advocacy campaigns and programs that respond to the health, wellbeing and community safety needs of the Monash community
Skills and Experience
- Qualifications in public policy, social sciences, health promotion, public health, or public policy with demonstrated skill
- Work experience in either social policy and planning, health promotion, primary prevention and/or community safety
- Exceptional skills and experience in project management, social research and analysis, policy development, and leading high-profile social policy agendas for local government
- Demonstrated ability to lead, guide, mentor and develop a professional team and contribute to a positive culture
- Exceptional community and stakeholder consultation skills
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including speaking with impact, accuracy and clarity for various audiences.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and strategic plans on a range of population health and public policy issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile and political environment
Requirements
- Qualifications in public policy, social sciences, health promotion or public health with demonstrated skills
- Employee Working with Children’s Check
- Satisfactory National Police Check; and
- Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements
