About the Role

As a Solution Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of innovative, scalable, and cost-effective solutions that bridge technology and business needs. You will drive digital and experience transformation, ensuring the seamless integration of systems, platforms, and applications while maintaining security, performance, and compliance standards. This role also offers the opportunity to evolve into an Enterprise Architect, where you will establish and evolve the Council’s Enterprise Architecture practice, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design: Analyse business requirements, design technical solutions, and ensure they are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
• Enterprise Architecture & Strategy: Establish and evolve the Council’s Enterprise Architecture practice, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Security and Risk Management: Work with the Digital & Technology (DT) Cyber security team to ensure compliance with VPDSS security standards.
• Stakeholder, Consultant & Vendor Management: Guide the selection and management of third-party service providers and technology vendors.
• Leadership & Governance: Provide guidance on DT investments and lead the creation of governance, quality assurance, and standards.

The successful candidate will have:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role.
• Experience in solution design spanning Infrastructure, Networks, Cyber Security, and Data.
• Proven experience in defining Enterprise architecture standards & development of technical documentation for the same.
• Demonstrated experience in creating feasibility studies and business cases for executive teams and advisory groups, guiding strategic directions with well-informed insights.
• Certification and/or experience with the Microsoft technology stack and cloud services such as M365, Azure and Power Platform.
• Certification and/or experience with Architecture frameworks and EA repository platforms such as TOGAF and Ardoq.
