About the Role
We seek to hear from an experienced and suitably qualified Leading Hand Infrastructure Maintenance. Reporting directly to the Team Leader Drainage Maintenance you will effectively assist in the delivery of essential drainage maintenance services to the community. The role plays an important function in the Drainage Maintenance Team; by making sure stormwater drainage assets are functioning to their full potential. At City of Monash we strive to deliver "Better Safer Assets" for our community and one of our major Civil Infrastructures is the extensive stormwater network. This role will also function as a second in charge as required and lead small groups to carry out Civil Infrastructure Maintenance Works on-site. In addition to this, the role will also have a number of office based duties related to Civil Infrastructure Maintenance works.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualifications post trade or Certificate, such as a TAFE qualification
  • Experience in Civil Infrastructure Construction/Maintenance
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and ability to perform as an integral team member within the organisation whilst fostering and developing interdepartmental relationships.
  • Well-developed drainage and road asset construction experience with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the relevant Australian Standards and industry codes of practice
  • Experience in using computer systems for basic data entry, assistance with reports and responding to customer requests

Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications to implement a traffic management plan and direct traffic, using a stop/slow bat (RIIWHS205D and RIIWHS302D) to meet VicRoads requirements
  • A current Victoria Drivers Licence; desirable Medium Rigid Truck Licence endorsement
  • Backhoe Operators OH&S Competency Qualifications or equivalent
  • Ability to undertake work outside of normal hours that may be required
