Leading Hand Infrastructure Maintenance

The City of Monash is seeking a motivated and professional individual to join Council's Infrastructure Maintenance Team as a Leading Hand. You will have an active role in assisting with the investigations, coordination and supervision of maintenance works conducted on Council assets, particularly roads and drains. This role ensures that Council assets are maintained to enable the delivery of quality services to the Monash community.

Working closely with the Facility and Infrastructure branch, the Infrastructure Maintenance Team delivers services which contribute to the vision for “Better Safer Assets”.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Qualifications post trade or Certificate, such as a TAFE qualification
  • Qualifications to implement a traffic management plan and direct traffic, using a stop/slow bat (RIIWHS205D and RIIWHS302D) to meet VicRoads requirements
  • Backhoe Operators OH&S Competency Qualifications or equivalent
  • Experience in the principles and techniques of road maintenance and construction and traffic management signage set out
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, sketches, diagrams and maps related to the work area

Please note a satisfactory police check, Working with Children check, and pre-employment medical are all requirements of this role.

Job Details:

This is a full-time, permanent role. This job is classified under Local Government Weekly Category 4. The salary range is $65,166 - $72,345 (dependent upon experience).
